Phantom Limbs

A phantom limb is a reality in an amputees mind. Evaluate a different situation where a reality only exists in a persons mind. Have you every experienced a reality that only existed in your mind?

An example would be when a person has experienced an euphoria situation and that situation is taken away from that person. The person would feel the nostalgia afterward when he experienced a similar situation in the future. A good example would be the joy of going to the beach. The smell of the ocean and the scenery can be triggered inside the person’s brain when he does something that even have a slightly connection to the joy that he has experienced from going to the beach. So whenever the person sees salt water, he would be reminded of the time he went to the beach and it would triggered the scenery inside his brain.

My own personal experience is when i dislocated my shoulder and the pain was unbearable. so whenever something happened to my shoulder, a cruciating memory of the incident appeared inside my mind. And it just flicks back to the memory of being in pain. the vivid memory lasted a while because the incident was too much for my brain to compansate. So whenver i do something that put a strain to my shoulder, it reminds me of that incident.

If something lies outside our realm of perception, then how can we know it?

An example would be that everyone will have to die some day. We know that for a fact because we experienced it every day even though we don’t see it every time. It is just a fact that nobody is immortal. It is something that we learned as we grow older. we learned facts everyday through our sensory perceptions. These facts will add up and caused us to understand the world better. the fact that we die someday is not something that we know since we are still living. But the fact that we know for SURE that we die is because of the things that happened in our history that we have learned. The answer to the question are we going to die is an obvious yes, but the how and why part is something that we have yet to experienced. Natural science is one of our areas of knowledge and to die sometimes in the future is certain because it is natural for people to die and it is normal. To sum it all up, the little things that we learned each and everday will contribute to the history of our mind and we get smarter and understand more and more about the things that are going on around us everyday. These little things will be enough for us to make predictions about how we see the future.

Why does nearly all propaganda take the form of art?

Propaganda usually take the form of art because art is the expression of each individualism. Art can take form of many things because art is almost everything. People can look at a piece of artwork and be able to reflect upon themselves. propaganda can make people look at them in a way that the people will be able to reflect upon themselves. Art is everything around us and its values are unmeasurable. when propaganda take the form of art, people cannot do anything about it but to respect it. In another word, art can brainwash anyone’s brain if there is some sort of connection with that piece of art.

Knowledge Issue Associated with North Korea.Justify it as a TOK knowledge issue.

North Korea is the most isolated country in the world. The government of North Korea is composed of communist dictatorship. The question is how is the lifestyle of the North Koreans. North Korea do not allow any video to be taken in the country. so a new question arrive, why wont they want others to know about their people. The videos that were taken legally were censored and directed by the Koreans’ government. Thus, we can conclude that those legally taken videos are biased and it shows what they want us to see. The government of North Korea want others to see them as a happy successful communist country that hate the Americans. They want to show people that they care very much about the children in their country. so are these things really true? videos that were taken illegally in North Korea showed that outside of their capital city, children lived in very poor condition and they eat off the ground. people would risk their life escaping from North Korea. So which videos can we trust, the one that were taken legally or the one that were taken illegally? The obvious choice is the one taken illegally.

History

I do not think that we are being taught “fake” stuff in history. I believe that all the history stuffs that we have been taught are proven facts with primary resources and documents that historians have researched. I think what we are being taught are things that historians believed that are true. It is up to us to make our own theories and choose whether to believe it or not. However, most history items have docoments and other sources that can be trusted. Even if we are being taught with fake stuffs, i still think it is fine as long as the evidences proved the conclusions to be correct.

Language

I believe that written language is the most persuasive way to convince people that the world is round. Language might come in many forms, but i think written language is the most effective way to convince someone about something new. With language being in written form, a person can always look back and view the evidences that say that the world is round. Spoken language can stir up arguments and cause disagreement easily. It can be hard to talk someone into believing what you believe. It is also hard to convince someone by just using body language language. When something is written to convince someone into believing, it will be hard for the person to just argue and not listen. The piece of writing will always be there but the rest of other language forms will fade away.

art

I believe that arts are the emotion that is within us. One cannot criticize art by having no emotion. Arts are from the personal emotion of each and everyone of us. We can go overboard criticizing art because the one who created the piece of artwork put their emotion into it. The value within it should be priceless because only the person who created it can put a value into it. When someone create a piece of artwork, he would put his emotions into it. Other people can try to feel the emotions within the artwork but he cannot put a grade on it because that would ruin the purpose of the art. Art is the expression that is shown to the world by the person expressing it.

Mathematic

I think that all the mathematic constants occur naturally but they also have to be discovered. Math is just like the mystery of life, you can never know enough. It is one of those mysteries of life that we discover as we evolve. I believe that everything has already existed and it will be discover sooner of later. we learn those numbers because we discovered them not by inventing them. Everything is reality has already existed, but what they need is discovery. You can never discover everything because there are infinite amount to be discovered.

Human science, is religion a human science? explain.

I really believe that religion is part of human science because it involves the interactivity in our everyday lives. Religion is a part of all of us even if we do not believe in any major religion.  Human science involves in everything that relates to our lives. Religion is a big part of many lives because it is their belief and it caused them to believe what is right and what is wrong. Religion affects how people act and understand the meaning of their lives. What we understand in this world is our human science and as part of it we must believe in something, and that is where religion come to play.

sensory perceptions

i think the most important sense we have is seeing. To see something is very important since it can create a visual memory in your mind. I believe it is the most important because without it we would have a harder life. The sense that i would give up is hearing because it seems like it is the only sense that i can live without. I am pretty sure i would not have a nromal life witout that perseption but if i have to choose, that is the one i would give up. As much important as it is, i do not believe our hearing sense is as great as other senses. Even if we know what it sounds like, we still would not be able to tell the difference since a lot of things have similar sounds
